Last 4th of July

We've been experiencing some technical difficulties lately. Time machine crashing, misplaced router, slow uploading, downloading refusals etc. etc. The joys of technology.
Anyways, last weekend was 4th of July and we had a pretty low key weekend.
Chad would have loved to travel somewhere on his 4 day but his 4 day and my 4 day weren't even the same days!
Also, in the very near future we will be taking a big, BIG vacation and until then I want to stay home with dog and baby.
Well, I don't really want to stay home but I don't want to do anything that involves suitcases or hotels.
So, our long weekend started with a little barbecue with friends.
Rhett had some type of food in or near his mouth from the minute we walked through their door.
Cheese, sweet potato puffs, applesauce, veggie puffs, banana, baby food, water, juice...
the list goes on and on.
I'd never seen him like this before.
Rhett... like everyone else... eats more than you'd expect at barbecues.
He also went down his first slide, bounced on a trampoline and sat in a tent with two ladies.
Lucky man.

July 4th is a good day to do things in Germany since Germans are actually working.
Leaves more room on the autobahn for us.
We took advantage of this fact and drove the couple hours to Meersburg, Germany which is a lovely town on the Bodensee (The Swabian Sea).
Meersburg has two castles, old and new, and multiple museums.
Every restaurant serves some type of local seafood and the town stays cool thanks to the breeze from the lake.
What more could you ask for?
(Oh and they grow and make their own local wines... now I ask you.. what more could you ask for?)

You're blind if you think this isn't the cutest thing ever....
For 300 Euro you can take a ride in an actual Zeppelin... of course this sounded tempting until I saw it nose dive a few hundred feet and that quickly changed my mind.
No thank you.
And because I didn't feel like getting run over by a hundred and one mercedes while crossing the street I can't really tell you anything about this cemetery except that it is well maintained and immaculate. Strangely beautiful in it's own way.
Before heading home we pulled into a driveway and picked up 1 kg of fresh cherries. Delicious.
Hope everyone enjoyed their 4th!

I would also like to add that Chad and I switch off who gets to sleep in on the weekends. Sunday was my turn and Chad had to go to work anyways for a quick minute so it worked out nicely.
When I woke up I saw that Chad had dressed Rhett and took him out in public (his work and the grocery store) wearing.... well... wearing the outfit pictured below. Totally mortified (but laughing at the same time).
